The short version
Puwesto is a sales log for bazaar and pop-up booths. It's built to work on your phone alone, so most of what it knows never leaves it.
- Your sales, items and events are stored on your phone. There is no sign-up and no account.
- Backups are files you make and send where you choose.
- Proof photos and QR screenshots are read on the phone, not uploaded.
- Anonymous usage counts help us improve the app, never amounts, names or notes. You can turn them off.
What stays on your phone
Everything you put into Puwesto is saved in the app's storage on your phone: your events, booth fees and costs, items and prices, sales, notes, the QR codes you add, and proof photos. Puwesto has no server that receives or stores your sales.
If you delete the app, this data is deleted from your phone, except any backup files you saved somewhere else.
Backups and sharing
Backup files. When you tap Back up now, Puwesto makes a file and opens your phone's share sheet. The file goes only where you send it, such as your Google Drive or your own email. It holds your events, sales, items and QR codes. Proof photos are not included.
Your phone's own backup. If backup is turned on in your Android settings, Android may include Puwesto's data in your Google account backup, so it can come back on a new phone. That backup is handled by Google under your Google account settings, and you can turn it off there.
Exports and share images. A sales export (CSV) or a shared summary image is made on your phone and goes only where you send it. Share images show totals, never who bought.
Permissions
Camera and photos
Puwesto uses the camera, or a photo you pick, when you snap a customer's proof screen or add your QR code from a screenshot. The amount, ref no. and time are read on the phone itself; the photo is not uploaded. Proof photos are deleted automatically 30 days after the event is closed, and you can delete them sooner.
Puwesto does not ask for your location, contacts, SMS, microphone or notifications.
Product analytics
To learn which parts of the app work and which don't, Puwesto sends anonymous usage events to PostHog, an analytics service. For example: that a sale was logged, that an event was closed, which screen was opened, the app version and the kind of phone.
These events never include amounts, item names, customer or vendor names, notes, ref nos., photos or QR codes. They're tied to a random ID made on your phone, not to you.
Crash reports. If the app crashes, Puwesto sends PostHog the kind of error and where in the app's code it happened. The error's text is removed first, because it could contain something from your screen.
You can turn product analytics and crash reports off at any time in Settings with Share usage and crashes. When it's off, nothing is sent.
What we never do
- Sell or rent your data, or use it for ads. Puwesto has no ads.
- Take, hold or move your money. Customers pay you directly.
- Share your sales with anyone, including bazaar organizers, unless you choose to.
Your choices
- Turn usage and crash sharing off in Settings.
- Delete a sale or an event in the app, or delete the app to remove everything on the phone.
- Delete backup files wherever you saved them.
Because your sales are on your phone and not with us, we can't see, change or recover them. For any question or request about your data, email us.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we'll update it here with a new date, and tell you in the app when the change matters.
